Biography

I am a native Michigander, born in Monroe, Michigan, near the site of the famous River Raisin Massacre. I graduated from Milan High School, Milan, Michigan. I hold degrees from Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France (Diplôme de langue et de culture françaises), Eastern Michigan University (B.A. in French and History), and Purdue University (M.A. in French Literature). I hold the Ph.D. in French and Francophone Literature and Film from The University of Texas at Austin. I also attended Arizona State University. I have taught at Purdue University, Austin Community College, The University of Texas at Austin, the University of Mississippi, and I presently teach at Carson-Newman College. I reside in Morristown, Tennessee.
